- Description:
- It is a medium to large-sized fruit with orange skin and flesh. Moorpark is self-pollinating.
- Uses:
- Eat fresh, jams, drying and desserts.
- Purchased From:
- Riverside Nursery, Bathurst (source: JFT nurseries).
- Date Planted:
- Planted in 2017.
- Harvest:
- December to January (mid to late season).
- First Harvest date:
- 1st January 2019: Only 6 small fruit l, probably due to the drought. The fruit was very ripe on the inside while still appearing a little green on the outside.
- Pruning:
- The apricot is trained in an espalier fan shape with a height of 1.9 meters and width of 2.0 meters. First pruned on 2 January 2018, with a light pruning off the top to maintain the height at 1.9 meters and a few branches to flatten the tree.
- Fertilise:
- In early spring, I fertilize with an organic fruit tree fertiliser (Richgro Organics Fruit And Citrus Plant Food) and seasol.
