- Spanish variety, from the town of Elche, in Valencia, Spain. Skin is Pinky-light red blush with leathery appearance. Flesh-A red jelly-like coating covers the soft seeds. Flavour- Sweet, rich flavour with some bitterness. Height 4mts. Width 3mts. Deciduous, self pollinating. Drought and frost hardy.

- Pomegranates do not ripen after being picked. Flowers in November.

- Pruning
- Prune when planting and then in the second year to encourage branching. Third year onwards only prune to keep a nice shape.

- Feed in spring in the second year, mulch well
