Bushcroft Kitchen Garden
Bushcroft Kitchen Garden is a cool, temperate-climate urban garden located in Bathurst in the central west of New South Wales, Australia.
A detailed design, incorporating permaculture principles, was drawn up, and work commenced in the spring of 2017.

Bushcroft Kitchen Garden Vegetable Sowing and Planting Calendar
Spring
- September
- Sow basil, beetroot, celeriac, celery, cucumber, eggplant, kale, kohlrabi, red florence onions, parsley, pumpkin, rockmelon, silverbeet, tomatoes, & zucchini seeds indoors.
- In trays, plant the turmeric.
- Plant some potatoes.
- Sow rocket & lettuce seeds.
- October
- Sow carrot, rocket, lettuce, silverbeet & beetroot seeds.
- Early October, sow sweet corn seeds in modules indoors.
- November
- About Melbourne cup day, plant out all seedlings that were sown in August & September.
- Sow carrot, beetroot, radish, mizuna & lettuce seeds.
- Sow sweet corn seeds.
- Late November, plant out sweet corn seedlings
Summer
- December
- Sow beetroot & lettuce seeds.
- January
- Sow parsnip seeds.
- Plant out cauliflower, broccoli, brussels sprouts & leek seedlings.
- February
- Sow swede & turnip seeds in early February.
- Sow english spinach, pak choy & rocket seeds.
- Plant out english spinach seedlings.
Autumn
- March
- Plant garlic around the 27th of March.
- April
- Sow broad bean and English spinach seeds in pots or in the garden on April 1st.
- May
- Sow seedlings of English spinach and pak choy on May 1st.
- Sow rocket, lettuce & pak choy seeds.
Winter
- June
- Plant out pak choy seedlings.
- Sow brown onion seeds in modules towards the end of June.
- July
- Plant out pak choy seedlings.
- August
- Start sweet potatoes in trays indoors on a heat mat the first week of August.
- 20th August, sow pea seeds in modules or direct in garden
- 20th August, sow capsicum seeds in pots, indoors on a heat mat
